The Girl Behind the Keyboard

Me. . . .

The world knows me as Génette Wood. My friends and family call me something a bit different, but that name also includes one of those cute accent marks over the first vowel.

Arizona has been the state I call home since I was small. Grade school, high school, and college have all been within 300 miles of the Mexican border, which I have never crossed. As of July 2013, however, I now have a second place to call home: Washington State.

At a young age, I was self-diagnosed with Severe Foot-In-Mouth Syndrome.  S-FIMS is contagious and often flares at the worst of moments (especially on Twitter, when trying to impress an agent or more experienced writer).

I write YA contemporary fantasy. My dream is to be published and to create a book tour that coincides with the NASCAR schedule. Someday, I plan write a decent crime novel just so my 5th grade teacher can say, "I told you so." (She always believed I was meant to write murder mysteries.)

As for sample writing, I can link you to my fan fiction webpage (which finally exists thanks to FF.net). The writing style is a little different from the one I've employed in my novel.
